Basic Introduction

Guo-Hai Zhang, Associate Professor, worked in Drug Screening Platform of State Key Laboratory for Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Medicinal Resources, Guangxi Normal University. Our focus is targeted therapy and drug resistance mechanism of lung cancer, and explores the mechanism of drug resistance and feasible intervention methods.(1) Elucidated the role and molecular mechanism of wild-type EGFR in maintaining the survival of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC); (2) Revealed the inactivation of p53 in NSCLC and the effect of serine 392 phosphorylation on its anti-cancer function; (3) Found the molecular basis of p53 mitochondrial localization and its regulation on Bcl-xl-Bak complex; (4) EGFR was found to directly regulate energy metabolism in lung cancer mitochondria. 2 NSFC projects and 2 Guangxi NSFC projects have been conducting in his research group and 9 SCI papers have been published in J Med Chem, J Biol Chem, Biochem Pharmacol, Eur J Med Chem and other journals either by first author or corresponding author.
