Direction and Research Field

 Direction 1: Study on the Basis of important Medicinal Resources of Guangxi

 Focus on key scientific issues of the Therapeutic basis and Pharmacodynamic mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine (including compound) and the relativity between them, to develop the research of effective substances of geoherbs and ethnic conventional medicine in Guangxi systematically, with the theory of chemistry, chemical biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, in particular drug design, analysis, and computational science, and fast, high-sensitivity micro- chromatography analysis techniques, combined with the method of online high-throughput screening.

 Major research: To develop the research of efficacy of a substance’s separation and purification, structural modification, and the structure-activity relationship (SAP) of geoherbs and ethnic conventional medicine in Guangxi; to construct the R & D system of the traditional Chinese medicine resources in Guangxi and focus on screening the active ingredient of anti-viral, cardiovascular disease and senile dementia; to establish the standard sample library of the active ingredients in Guangxi geoherbs to carry out the research on quality standard of traditional Chinese medicine and natural medicine, aim to establish a scientific and effective quality control methods for the traditional Chinese medicine in line with international requirements; to create a single-cell analysis method as early diagnostic markers for cancer, diabetes; build the pharmacokinetic research system with new microfluidic chip electrophoresis technology, for the research of rapid screening and clinical examination methods of the active substance and the trace for heavy metal ions from the complex system of Chinese herbal medicine.

 Direction 2: Studies on the metal drugs based on ligand derived from natural compound

Focus on the scientific issues of how to use the life sciences, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, the latest theories and techniques of bioinformatics in the 21st century to clarify the action mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine and development of new medicines, to develop the design, synthesis, structure and function as well as screening and mechanism of metal-based drug based on ligand derived from natural compound.

 Major research: To develop the research on inorganic medicinal chemistry based on the active ingredient of Guangxi geoherbs, and the synthesis and biological activity of metal complexes that form the biologically active ligand; to develop the research of interaction between the bioactivities and targeted drug substances, and the interaction of molecular pharmacology between the inorganic ion, nanoparticles, inorganic drugs, active ingredients of Chinese medicine or an inorganic complex system and model proteins and other biological macromolecules, and monoplast.

 Direction 3: Design and application research on the drug transporters and drug carrier system

Focus on the target and action mechanism of the major diseases, to develop the design and application of the drug transporters and drug carrier system.

 Major research: to develop the fundamental researches interrelated with the drug delivery system; to develop the effect relationship research of the directed construction, structural transformation, solid-state conversion and its physical and chemical properties of the hole with (poly) compounds, and its application in design, synthesis of the higher drug load (especially for Guangxi geoherbs’s active ingredients) and the new drug carrier that can control the release of drug molecules effectively; to develop the research on the chiral metal-organic frameworks in application of the extraction and separation of Therapeutic ingredients, and the adsorption and catalytic improvement of drug molecule; to design and synthesize the molecule’s material and its application in identification, separation, such as fluorescence, chiral molecules material.
